“Dear Dr. Raniere,
I would like to take this opportunity to convey my gratitude for the gift that you gave to me. On 5/31/2011, you helped me reverse some of the cruelties that have quietly eaten at my very being for the past 30+ years. Not to bore you with the details, but hopefully to further inspire you that what you do for people like me is worthwhile.
I am seemingly successful in that I attained the position of Director of Nursing at a local Psychiatric Hospital. I survived living in Wales, UK, having moved there at age 19 from Dominica in the Caribbean to pursue my vocation in Nursing. I married a Welch/German man (my mother – possessive) and had 3 sons. We moved to the US in 1986, and then 4 years later, he went back to Wales and never looked back for his 3 young kids. Several years later, I married a man from Dominica (my father – emotionless) and had a daughter, born on my 42nd birthday.
In 1978, when I had my 1st son, my very large stomach fell down and no amount of exercises recovered my size 12 shape. I consoled myself to a size 22. I did the diet thing every now and again, but the “apron” remained; therefore, I would put the weight back on. I had no support from my then spouses; I always felt unworthy at home. Sure, I received compliments from strangers and co-workers, but I was already conditioned in my belief system; therefore, those pleasantries had no impact. But one day about a year ago when I got hold of myself and started to apply some of my attained knowledge (Psychology) to my own situation, I started shedding the pounds and the negativity. I filed for divorce. I decided to come see you. I did not shop around. I prayed about it, and I believe God led me to you.
In conclusion, Dr. Raniere, thank you for giving me my hope back. Thank you for looking and seeing me. Thank you for accepting me. Just wanted to let you know that you have really made a great difference in my life. I will go on. I will continue to get well and fit. I will exercise and firm up the parts that I can and get good foundation garments for the parts that I can’t. You have given me the boost that I needed. God bless your hands, Sir.
